Midterm #5

In this midterm I exported an image of a lobster called monster.jpeg using gimp into other file formats.  They were a progressive .jpg and an interlaced .png.  As I inserted the picture into this blog and observed them load through my neighbors really slow wifi, they had two different loading methods.  The progressive .jpg loaded onto the page in a horizontal fashion from top down, one line of pixels appearing at a time. The interlaced .png on the other hand loaded immediately but blurry.  Over time png interlaced image became enhanced until it looked normal. This is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics.
